Key Challenge : The China (Hainan) Museum of the South China Sea is a national‑level comprehensive museum located in Tanmen town, Qionghai, Hainan. Designed by He Jingtang, an academician of the South China University of Technology, the museum spans over 70,000 square metres and combines modern aesthetic styles with traditional Chinese cultural elements, resembling a boat floating on the sea. Officially opened on April 26, 2018, the museum consists of two zones — the southern zone housing eight indoor showrooms, and the northern zone dedicated to social functions including a multi‑function hall, conference rooms, and audience facilities.

The museum's multi‑function hall and conference auditorium required high‑quality, durable seating capable of accommodating a wide range of events — academic lectures, international symposiums, cultural performances, press conferences, and public education programmes. As a national‑level museum attracting hundreds of thousands of visitors annually, the seating needed to meet stringent standards of comfort, acoustics, aesthetics, and durability while harmonising with the museum's distinctive maritime architectural theme. The project also demanded full compliance with national public seating safety standards and timely delivery aligned with the museum's opening schedule.

Solution : FLYA furniture designed, manufactured, and installed a comprehensive seating solution for the museum's multi‑function hall and conference auditorium. Key features include :

* Ergonomic high‑back design — providing full lumbar and shoulder support for audiences during extended lectures, conferences, and performances
* Acoustic‑optimised construction — ensuring clear sound transmission in the multi‑function hall, essential for academic presentations and cultural events
* Fire‑retardant and eco‑friendly upholstery — meeting national safety standards (GB/T 2602‑2013) and environmental requirements for public cultural venues

The seating was strategically configured to optimise sightlines from every position in the hall, ensuring an exceptional viewing experience for all attendees. FLYA coordinated all logistics to ensure timely delivery and professional installation, working closely with the museum's project team to meet the opening deadline.
